Cherishing Each Day

This is my favorite time of year! I just love everything about the fall - the leaves changing, the fall decorations/flowers/etc., the sweatshirt weather, the hot apple cider (YUM). And yesterday Ayden got to pick out his first pumpkin. We went to a farm stand in Port Republic (the next town over where I grew up) and picked out a little "punkie" and a big "punkie" and then some mums to plant out in front of the house. That was after naptime.
Before Bubba's nap, since it was Shawn's day off, while Momma was getting ready for the day, Daddy and Ayden played Carrom - a board game where you flick rings in the same fashion as pool. Then we all went to lunch together and walked around the Historic Shoppes of Smithville (one of my favorite places on earth!) I'll take a picture sometime for all of you. Ayden also got to ride on one of those cars you put a quarter in for the first time. I am happy to say that he didn't seem to enjoy that much so maybe he won't throw a fit every time he isn't allowed to get on one.
But the point of all of this is that I realized yesterday that I need to cherish every moment I have with my family - not just the ones when we are having so much fun together. Due to the circumstances around me, it is being pounded in my head over and over that time is not guaranteed and we need to live life accordingly. Have a wonderful day!
