Recap of Ohio
We had a very nice time while we were in Ohio. We drove through the night on Wednesday after Shawn got off of work at 10:30 and got to his parents at about 8:00am give or take. I don't really remember! Ayden did really well driving through the night. He watched a couple of movies and did quite a bit of sleeping which was really nice. We took a nap when we got there and spent some time with Gramma D (Shawn's grandmother who Ayden nicknamed DeeDee). Mom and Dad got home from work around 5ish and we ordered out for dinner. After a much needed night of rest, we got up on Friday and did Christmas like it was Christmas morning. We had a good time exchaging gifts and then broke for breakfast. We then left for Cambridge (about an hour away) to see Shawn's Dad's side of the family. We spent some time with Grandpa and Grandma Bates and ate some pizza with them; then we went over to Uncle Brent, Aunt Kathy, and Erin's house to see them. We just happened to be there when her boyfriend (I think his name is Joe) came over and we got to meet him...a very nice guy. Ayden had a lot of fun running all over their living room and playing games with Uncle Brent. It was so cute! We got home, played some Chicken Foot with DeeDee, and went to bed. Saturday was a semi-relaxing day and we went to the Columbus Zoo to see the 2 million+ lights that they had all over. We couldn't really see too many animals, but the lights were amazing. We had a really good time...the traffic was terrible, but definitely worth the wait. And for as late as it was, Ayden did so well! Sunday morning we went to church, came home and ate lunch, took naps and then just hung out for the rest of the day. Monday morning we said our goodbyes and were on the road by 7:30am. It was a smooth ride most of the way home - then we hit Philly. That set us back about an hour, but we got home in time for dinner. And then we crashed! Thanks Dad, Mom, and Gramma for such a good time and we missed you Ryan and Shathar!
