I actually did start writing this the day after Mother's Day, but forgot it was in my drafts...where is my brain these days? If anyone finds it, please let me know!
I actually got my mother's day gift on Saturday night when Shawn got home from work. It was a movie night with my boys bucket. It was the movie "Charlotte's Web" (the live animal version which we had never seen before. The popcorn bucket had the movie, popcorn, movie candy, and a bunch of tulips - my very favorite flower. Shawn told me that when he asked Ayden what he wanted to do with Momma for Momma's special day, he said that he wanted to watch a movie with me. So that is where the idea for our movie night came from - it is so special knowing that your child came up with your present, sorta.
So that's what we did on Saturday night. Although Ayden lost interest in the movie after about an hour and Levi didn't care about it in the first place, we had a good time and it is a cute movie. Ayden has since gotten more into the storyline.
Sunday was also our anniversary (#6). We kept saying that we would have a date night at a later time and still haven't. We'll have to work on that one! We went to a BBQ with our small group after church, and it ended up being so cold! We didn't stay very long - but didn't really feel like doing much else, so we just stayed home and relaxed the rest of the day. What better way for a momma to spend Mother's Day than with the best kiddos and hubby in the world!!!
This is a picture I took of the boys before church on Mother's Day.
